In Kimetsu no Yaiba, we all know the 9 main Hahiras to be weirdos who possess extreme personalities. Seriously though, in terms of bizarreness and uniqueness, the topic truly deserved its own personal article. However, as suggested by the title. Today, I will be attempting the rank the 9 Main Hashiras (or Pillars) from weakest to strongest… So buckle up and sit tight as I Rank the Hashira in Kimetsu no Yaiba from Weakest to Strongest.

Please note! Since the anime does not fully illustrate the full abilities of these Hashiras. I will also include some occasional content from within the Manga.

9. Mitsuri Kanroji

Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Pillar, 9th rank, kimetsu no yaiba, demon slayer
The Love Pillar

Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Pillar, possesses an impossible fantasy of marrying a husband stronger than herself. After all, that is precisely why she joined the Demon Slayer Corps. Sadly, she was much much stronger than most of her peers. Therefore narrowing her lists of prospects down to her only comrades, the Hashiras. However, in terms of combat capabilities, don’t let her cute and innocent appearance fool you.

The Love Pillar is extremely agile. She tends to fight by utilizing speed and flexibility, all of which provide huge advantages over her foes. In addition, Mitsuri also receives an insane power boost when activating her Demon Slayer Mark. However, she is yet still pale in comparison with her fellow Hashiras’. We all know this in the manga fight against Muzan where she arguably struggled to keep up.

8. Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Pillar, 7th rank, kimetsu no yaiba, demon slayer
The Insect Pillar

Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Pillar, is known for her medical expertise within the Demon Slayer Corps. She has an overtly kind and heartwarming motherly figure. In addition, Shinobu always seems to be smiling. Though she does have a passive-aggressive side, as seen when confronting Giyu Tomioka… She is truly a caring and soft-spoken character overall.

Interestingly enough, Shinobu’s Nichirin Blade is extremely deadly for something that can’t cut. Resembling an insect stinger, the blade is coated with a poison that is extremely deadly to demons. This allows Shinobu to incapacitate demons in mere minutes. Her fighting style mainly relies on stabs. And while she possesses a weak swing, Shinobu is able to outpace her opponents in terms of speed and agility.

7. Obanai Iguro

Obonai Iguro, the Serpent Pillar, 6th rank, kimetsu no yaiba, demon slayer
The Serpent Pillar

Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Pillar, is most brutal in his way of life in comparison to others. First and foremost, he is an extremely strict and law-abiding citizen who set high standards for his comrades and soldiers alike. When confronting Tanjiro in regards to Nezuko, he further emphasized a strong desire to kill all demons no matter the circumstances.

Similar to Muichiro Tokito, Obanai relies mostly on swordsmanship when fighting. Furthermore, The Serpent Pillar is indeed a technical fighter due to his lack of raw strengths. In addition, Obanai also possesses a unique Nichirin Blade with wavy shape to compromise for the Breath of Serpent techniques, a style that shines through utilizing agility and slithers.

6. Tengen Uzui

Tengen Uzui,, the Sound Pillar, 4th rank, kimetsu no yaiba, demon slayer
The Sound Pillar

Tengen Uzui, also known as the Sound Pillar, is a Hashira known for being an ultimate father figure through his seemingly cool and badass vibe. In addition, he is also an eccentric character who uses the phrase “flamboyantly” in every sentence; which he especially emphasized when expressing his desires to splatter Tanjiro’s blood.

Even Uzui’s Nichirin Blade screamed ‘flamboyant’. To compensate for the Breath of Sound techniques, he carries two Nichirin Blades that are slightly larger than other Hashiras. One should never underestimate Uzui’s raw strengths and endurance. He is able to analyze enemy movements, attacks and transform them into certain rhythms and tempos. This gives him the ability to predict and determine his enemy’s next actions by composing a musical score in his head. He also managed to withstand 2 Upper Moon Demons even after Gyutarou, Upper Moon Six, severely poisoned him.

5. Giyu Tomioka

Giyu Tomioka, the Water Pillar, 3th, kimetsu no yaiba, demon slayer
The Water Pillar

Giyu Tomioka, the Water Pillar, a cool-head who possesses a quiet yet easily misunderstood personality. Unlike other Hashiras who showed extreme hatred towards the Demons, Giyu was able to calmly analyze Tanjiro’s unique situation and spare Nezuko.

Though Giyu does not talk much, he is definitely not lacking in terms of combat capabilities. Similar to Tanjiro, Giyu is also a user of the Breath of Water techniques. In the fight against Upper Moon Three, Akaza, though Giyu initially struggled to keep up, he soon later received his Demon Slayer Mark. With the aid from both Tanjiro and his new powers, they were finally able to defeat Akaza for good.

4. Kyojuro Rengoku

Kyoujuro Rengoku, the Flame Pillar, 5th ranking, kimetsu no yaiba, demon slayer
The Flame Pillar

Kyoujuro Rengoku, or the Flame Pillar, gives off the impression of an optimistic leader. He is almost always in a cheerful mood and is most enthusiastic about seemingly everything. However, he has strict morals, and similar to Obanai, he is yet another perfect example of a law-abiding citizen.

In terms of combat capabilities, Kyoujuro Rengoku possesses raw strengths that possibly rival that of Upper Moon 3, Akaza, as illustrated during their intense battle. In addition, not only is strength one of Rengoku’s strong points, but he also incorporates insane speed and agility into his Breath of Flames technique.

3. Muichiro Tokito

Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Pillar, 8th rank, kimetsu no yaiba, demon slayer
The Mist Pillar

Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Pillar, is especially known for his tendency to daydream. With the exception of demons, he is never serious around others and refuses to let emotions, rather than logic, to compromise his decision making.

Contrary to Muichiro’s tiny build, his swordsmanship and raw strengths defined him as a powerful Hashira. Combined with a variety of Breathe of Mist and a powerful Demon Slayer Mark power boost, Muichiro Tokito is able to effortlessly annihilate Upper Moon Five, Gyokko. Sadly, despite Muichiro’s evident strength, Upper Moon One still managed to completely outmatch the Mist Pillar within a few strikes.

2. Sanemi Shinazugawa

Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Pillar, 2nd rank, kimetsu no yaiba, demon slayer
The Wind Pillar

Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Pillar, is incredibly short-tempered and hot-headed. He showed extreme hatred towards the demon, even going as far as stabbing Nezuko to provoke Tanjiro. Sanemi is especially cold and rude towards his little brother, Genya Shinazugawa, by constantly berating him. Ultimately, it was later revealed that Sanemi’s attitude was actually due to his desire to protect those around him and to keep them away from the Demons.

Through a combination of combat experience, speed, and strength, Sanemi Shinazugawa was able to rival the ability of Upper Moon One, Kokushibo, for a brief moment before receiving aids from his fellow Demon Slayer Corps members. Still, one should not underestimate his fighting spirits and powers. Since, after their intense fight, Sanemi was able to continue moving although he was rendered unconscious.

1. Gyomei Himejima

Gyoumei Himejima, the Stone Pillar, 1st Rank, kimetsu no yaiba, demon slayer
The Stone Pillar

Gyoumei Himejima, the Stone Pillar, though he possesses a giant build of at least 7 foot tall, he is an extremely sensitive person. In fact, he often cries, prays, and just in general, empathizes with those around him.

As the number one on this list, Gyoumei Himejima is officially confirmed as the most powerful Hashira. Unlike most Demon Slayer, Gyoumei does not fight with a Nichirin Blade but rather uses two chains connected to an ax and a spiked flail. In terms of raw strengths, Gyoumei is able to move extremely fast while wielding such heavy weapons. To further illustrate his strength, Gyoumei was able to rival the abilities of Upper Moon One, Kokushibou, without having to rely on his Demon Slayer Mark: an impossible feat for any other Hashiras.

Conclusion:

So there is my final ranking for the 9 main Hashiras of Kimetsu no Yaiba. Did you all perhaps agree with this list?? Perhaps you want to change the order of a specific or multiple character!?? If so, feel free to share in the comment section below as to why you think so!!
